Qi (or Chi) refers to the life force or vitality of life that flows through the whole universe. Gong (or Kung) means method or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. The benefits of Qigong may include a decrease in stress, an increase in stamina, increased vitality and an enhanced immune system. Some practices increase Qi; others circulate it, use it to cleanse and heal the body, store it and emit Qi to heal others. It is suitable for all levels and ages. People do Qigong to maintain health, calm their minds, heal their bodies and reconnect with their spirit.
Yin yoga has tremendous benefits in reducing stress, increasing flexibility, sharpening mental focus, and decreasing insomnia. Qigong and yin yoga compliments each other greatly as both have their roots in Chinese medicine. In this training, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Chinese medicine including Five Elements, Three Treasures, Chinese meridians system, Yin Organs and their associated emotions.
We’ll teach you how to incorporate Qigong exercises into your yin yoga practice. Upon completion of the course, you’ll have a personal Qigong yin yoga sequence, in which you’ll continue to deepen with consistent practice. Also, you’ll have a fundamental Qigong yin yoga teaching method to offer to your students of any levels.
