100hr Qi Gong, Chinese Meridians &
Yin Yoga Teacher Training
Aug 17-28, 2018
Our 100hr Qi Gong, Chinese Meridians & Yin Yoga Teacher Training is an innovative training that combines authentic Qigong exercises and yin yoga modalities. In recent times, Qi Gong has become increasingly popular in the West. As one of the main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi Gong has tremendous benefits including decreasing stress, increasing stamina, enhancing vitality and boosting our immune system.
Qi (or Chi) refers to the life force or vitality of life that flows through the whole universe. Gong (or Kung) means method or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. For a very long time, Qi Gong has been widely practiced throughout China, and is considered an essential healing art in the East. Qi Gong is suitable for all levels and ages. People do Qi Gong to maintain health, calm their minds, heal their bodies, and reconnect with their spirit.
Yin yoga compliments Qi Gong seamlessly as both have their roots in the Traditional Chinese Medicine. Yin yoga, on its own, has tremendous benefits in reducing stress, increasing flexibility, sharpening mental focus, and decreasing insomnia. Led by Dr.Word Smith, who has attained his doctorate in Medical Qi Gong, this training will unfold a series of introductory Qigong sequences that can be integrated with yin yoga poses.
In this training, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Chinese medicine including Five Elements, Three Treasures, Chinese meridians system, healing sounds & colors, yin organs and their associated emotions. As well, we will show you how to infuse the elements of Qi Gong and acupressure points into any yin yoga sequences.
Our curriculum meets the requirements set by Yoga Alliance including training, teaching methodology, anatomy, philosophy, and practicum.
This course is ideal if you're already a teacher or practitioner in yoga (any style), Qigong, Tai-Chi, Reiki, or any other healing arts. Also, you should have a basic knowledge in anatomy.

I really enjoyed the training. I felt it was a very safe, open environment where we were encouraged to be true to ourselves. We were guided but also given space to develop our own unique teaching voice. It really has been a wonderful experience. I have laughed, cried, opened up, and began to see my thoughts in a new light. I feel hopeful about life’s new journeys ahead. Thank you!
