Getting Here

The international airport in Sri Lanka is in the capital city Colombo, Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). There are many international airlines servicing to Colombo. The car ride is about 3-4hrs to Rukgala Retreat depending on traffic. The road is pleasant and along the way you can enjoy the scenery of this blessed land. Rukgala Retreat is about 45 minutes outside of Kandy, one of the most historical town in Sri Lanka.

Once you have booked your flights, please send us the itinerary. We will organize a transport to pick you up at the airport to the resort. There is an additional cost. Depending on how many people are sharing a transport with you, you will know the exact cost one week prior to arrival.

There are ATMs and currency exchange at the airport.

Training begins on Dec 03 at 7:30am and finishes on Dec 12 late afternoon. You must book your flights accordingly as it’s mandatory to complete all training contact hours for certification. If you have any questions regarding traveling, please email us at hello@annieauyoga.com.

Your passport must have at least two blank pages and be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your arrival in Sri Lanka. Most countries require a visa to enter Sri Lanka. You can apply for one online here.

 

Ancient Yogi Cave and The Temple of the Tooth Relic

Buddhism is the primary religion in Sri Lanka, its rich philosophy is embedded in the the lives of the locals. During the training, we will visit one of the most cultural and historical Buddhist temple in the world- Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, you will have a chance to see the relic of the tooth of the original Buddha.

Ancient Yogi Cave

Rukgala is located near an ancient cave where yogis used to meditate in. As part of our curriculum, we will take a short enjoyable hike and meditate in this well-preserved cave. It is truly an authentic yogi experience!
